Can I Remove Viruses From My Air?

Can I Remove Viruses From My Air?

While we may be past the Covid-19 pandemic, the virus remains and will remain part of our lives for the foreseeable future. The pandemic, in a general sense, has made people think more seriously about disinfection, air quality and how we protect ourselves from getting sick from viruses and other contaminants. Companies have also jumped on the proverbial bandwagon, innovating, and bringing to market solutions that can be installed in home heating and cooling systems to meet consumer demand.

Air scrubbers and virus stopping UV-lights can now be installed in both new and existing heating and cooling systems and deliver considerable benefits. These can include:

Indoor Air Quality

By removing viruses and other contaminates, the air your breath is cleaner and healthier. As air circulates in your home, rather than blowing particles all over your home, it is being captured in filters.

If you suffer from allergies, these systems can be particularly helpful by removing VOCs and bring relief to your respiratory system.

Surface Contamination

We’ve all noticed dust slowly cascading on the surfaces of our homes, particular on a sunny day. These particles contain contaminants that land on food, TV remotes, magazines, and the surfaces that we touch all day every day. UV systems can effectively capture and destroy these contaminants and bring peace of mind that your home is truly clean.

Fast Acting

Air scrubbers and UV systems are fast acting, cleaning and disinfecting large amounts of air in a short period time. They certainly work faster than standalone air purifiers that are only so strong and can only manage smaller areas.

Affordability

Air scrubbers and UV systems are relatively inexpensive additions to your home heating and cooling systems. Most new installs have these systems available as options and can be included on new installations.

As with any major home appliance and mechanical system, occasional upkeep is required. Filters will need to be changed and perhaps a bit more often. For UV systems, the bulbs need to be changed out occasionally. Still, the cost to maintain these systems are mild considering the benefit they deliver.

If you are interested in learning more about these systems and what might be available for your current heating or cooling system, give our office a call and a member of our team will be happy to provide you with more details.
